Mr. Jonathan Majamanda

Jonathan Geophrey Majamanda is a Medical Laboratory Scientist who holds a Masters degree in Epidemiology – Implementation Science from the University of the Witwatersrand and a BSc. in Medical Laboratory Science (Hons.) from the University if Malawi, the College of Medicine. He has over 8 years of experience both in the public and the private sector.

Currently, he heads the Biomedical Sciences Department at Malamulo College of Health Sciences whose duties include overseeing departmetal faculty performance as well as lecturing and supervising students.

He has worked for four years at years in the public sector and was part of the team that led to 3 star rating of Mzuzu Central Hospital on ASLM assessment in 2015. He has strong zeal to transform and improve the research culture among Medical Laboratory Scientists in Malawi through student research supervision both for undergraduate and postgraduate, research collaboration and mentorship.

He believes transforming of informed decisions, using multipronged approaches, is key to achieving the aim of the association and enhancing growth in medical laboratory professionals
